Your account.
Your control.
Effective October 9, 2026
This policy describes how Aeon’s tablet app uses Google and YouTube data, and how this information website is hosted. Aeon is developed and operated by Cody Tuma for personal use.
Data Aeon accesses
If you choose to connect YouTube, Aeon requests the youtube.readonly permission. It reads your YouTube channel name, subscriptions, liked videos and playlists, along with video and channel information needed to display them. Public search and popular-video information can be retrieved without connecting your account.
Aeon receives authorization tokens from Google so it can make these requests. Your Google password is entered only with Google; Aeon does not receive or store it.
How the data is used
Aeon uses this information only to provide the YouTube features you request: browsing your subscriptions and library, searching, and playing selected videos. It does not use Google user data for advertising targeting, sell that data, or use it to train AI or machine-learning models.
Aeon’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention
The tablet stores a refresh token and your YouTube channel name in app-private local storage until you sign out or clear the app’s data. Access tokens and retrieved lists are held in app memory for use during the session. Aeon does not send these account tokens or retrieved YouTube account data to an Aeon-operated cloud backend.
Google, YouTube and other services
Aeon sends authorized requests directly to Google and YouTube using HTTPS. Video playback uses YouTube’s embedded player, which may receive playback information, IP address and device information and may use cookies or similar technologies under the Google Privacy Policy. YouTube’s own advertising may appear in the player.
Other optional Aeon functions, such as Plex and local van controls, communicate with the services or equipment you configure. This policy’s description of Google account data applies specifically to the YouTube integration.
Disconnecting and deleting data
Sign out of YouTube in Aeon to remove its locally stored refresh token and channel name and clear its in-memory YouTube lists. Aeon also attempts to revoke the token with Google. You can independently revoke access at any time from your Google Account connections.
Clearing Aeon’s app data or uninstalling the app removes its local app data. These actions do not delete your videos, subscriptions, playlists or other data held by Google. To remove those, use YouTube or your Google Account.
